Hoffenheim Coach Huub Stevens Steps Down Due to Health

Frank Kramer Appointed as Interim Successor

Veteran Coach Markus Gisdol Departs After Disappointing Results

Huub Stevens has stepped down from his position as head coach of Hoffenheim for health reasons, according to German news wire SID. The club has appointed Frank Kramer as interim coach, with immediate effect.

Stevens, 69, had been in charge of Hoffenheim since December 2021. He had previously managed the club from 2006 to 2008, leading them to Bundesliga promotion in 2007.

Hoffenheim are currently 14th in the Bundesliga table, having won just one of their last six games. They were eliminated from the DFB-Pokal in the second round by third-tier side 1. FC Kaiserslautern.

Gisdol, 53, was appointed as head coach of Hoffenheim in June 2022. He was previously in charge of FC Köln, Hamburg SV, and Schalke 04.

Hoffenheim's next game is against FC Augsburg on Saturday. Kramer will be tasked with guiding the team towards a positive result and improving their fortunes in the Bundesliga.
