Toffees boss admits his team need to be mentally strong after conceding a late equalizer against newly promoted Nottingham Forest

Head Coach Frank Lampard admitted that Everton must be more resilient following their draw against newly promoted Nottingham Forest. Despite Neal Maupay giving Everton the lead in the 27th minute, the Toffees conceded a late equalizer from Lewis O’Brien in the added time, resulting in a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park.

Defensive frailties cost Everton again as Forest snatch late point

The home side were largely dominant throughout the match, with Demarai Gray hitting the woodwork twice and Forest goalkeeper Dean Henderson making several good saves. However, Everton's defensive frailties were exposed once again as they failed to hold on to their lead in the dying moments of the game.

Conceding late goals a recurring issue for Toffees

Everton have now conceded late goals in three of their last four Premier League matches, which Lampard believes is a mental issue. "We have to be very tough mentally," he said. "We have to understand that there are going to be difficult moments in games, and we have to see them through. We can't keep conceding late goals like this," added Lampard.

Maupay and Gray impress but Toffees need more goals

While Lampard was pleased with the performances of Maupay and Gray, he conceded that his team needs to find more goals from other areas of the pitch. "We had some good chances today, but we need to be more clinical in front of goal," he said.

Lampard looking for improvements against Brentford

Everton will next face Brentford away from home on Saturday, and Lampard will be demanding a response from his players. "We need to learn from our mistakes and we need to be better next time," he said.
