Spain hold on to beat Czech Republic despite Kounde red card

Spain came from behind to beat the Czech Republic 2-1 in their UEFA Nations League match on Sunday, despite playing the majority of the second half with ten men.

The visitors took the lead in the 25th minute when Jakub Pesek headed home from a corner.

But Spain equalised just four minutes later through Gavi, and then took the lead in the 56th minute when Nico Williams scored his first international goal.

Spain were then reduced to ten men when Jules Kounde was sent off for a second yellow card in the 71st minute.

But the hosts held on to claim all three points, and maintain their perfect start to the Nations League campaign.

Ronaldo scores late winner as Portugal beat Scotland

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a late winner as Portugal beat Scotland 2-1 in their UEFA Nations League match on Sunday.

The visitors took the lead in the 32nd minute when Diogo Dalot scored with a low drive.

But Scotland equalised just four minutes later through Ryan Fraser.

The match looked to be heading for a draw, but Ronaldo popped up with a winner in the 93rd minute.

The goal was Ronaldo's 89th for Portugal, and moved him one clear of former Iran striker Ali Daei as the all-time leading international goalscorer.

Other results

In other Nations League matches on Sunday, Italy beat England 1-0, while Germany beat Hungary 2-0.

The results mean that Spain, Portugal and Italy are all level on points at the top of their respective groups.
